Swan Hill

Swan Hill

The Swan Hill region is a haven for food and wine lovers and offers its visitors a rare insight into Victoria’s colonial history.

Discover the town's rich colonial past at the Pioneer Settlement which portrays a nineteenth century Murray River settlement. Take a free ride through town on horse and cart, enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea in the Paragon Café, don an olden days costume for a family photo, or stick around to watch the fabulous Heartbeat of the Murray; an explosive laser, sound and light spectacular.

While you are in town, take a ride on the 150-year-old Paddle Steamer Pyap and experience some of the most unspoiled and rugged sections of the Murray.

The Swan Hill region’s history is interwoven with a contemporary feel, brought about by the increasing number of local cafés and gourmet restaurants who are offering regional wines and the freshest local produce.

If you’re an avid golfer, make sure you pack your clubs and work on your handicap at the Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, one of the country's top golf courses.

The town also boosts cosy bed and breakfasts, five star caravan parks and resort style accommodation where you are guaranteed to enjoy if you decide to stay awhile.
