Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line

Geelong line

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line from Sunday 22 to Tuesday 24 November.

Sunday 22 November

From Southern Cross:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.

From Waurn Ponds:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 November

From Southern Cross Station:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.

From Waurn Ponds:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

All train services will be replaced by a mix of express and stopping all stations coach services, for more information, please see a V/Line staff member.

Please allow an additional 40 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

General Information  

• There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services
• No pets or hot food/liquids allowed on replacement coaches
• Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare
• In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street

Coaches replace trains on the Seymour and Shepparton lines

7 Nov - 8 Nov 2026

Due to Inland Rail works, coaches replace Seymour and Shepparton line trains for the entire journey on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.


Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November

Coaches replace all trains between Southern Cross, Seymour and Shepparton.

Replacement coaches will be a mix of express and stopping all stations services. Coaches will not stop at Essendon Station.


Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

7 Nov - 8 Nov 2026

Due to Inland Rail works on the Albury Line, coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Albury on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.

Coaches replace trains on the Albury Line

16 Nov 2026

Due to Inland Rail works on the Albury Line, coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Albury on Monday 16 November.

Some coaches will depart up to 22 minutes earlier than usual train times, so plan ahead and check the temporary timetable before you travel.

A temporary coach replacement timetable will be in place.
