Coaches replace trains on the Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines

5 Jun - 7 Jun 2026

Bendigo line

Due to Metro maintenance and renewal works, coaches replace trains for all or part of the journey on the Bendigo, Echuca, and Swan Hill lines from Friday night 5 June to last service Sunday 7 June.

Friday night 5 June

From 8.00pm to last service – coaches replace all trains between Southern Cross, Bendigo, Epsom and Eaglehawk.

From Epsom:
The 7.55pm Epsom to Southern Cross service will run as a train to Bendigo, then coaches from Bendigo to Southern Cross.

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June

Bendigo and Echuca lines

Coaches replace trains between Gisborne and Southern Cross. Trains will run between Gisborne, Bendigo and Echuca.

Coaches will depart Southern Cross Station up to 30 minutes earlier than usual train times.

Swan Hill Line

View the temporary timetable here.

Swan Hill trains will run between Swan Hill and Bendigo only.

Travel advice for Swan Hill passengers travelling to and from:

Melbourne - catch an express coach between Bendigo and Southern Cross. 

Bendigo Line stations - catch a Bendigo Line train between Bendigo and Gisborne, and a coach replacement service between Gisborne and Sunbury.

Temporary timetables will be in place.

Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong

Geelong line

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 June.

Monday 8 June (King’s Birthday public holiday)

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8.45pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.
 
From Waurn Ponds:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

All V/Line trains will run to Saturday timetable for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June

From Southern Cross Station:
From 9.00pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

From Waurn Ponds:
From 8pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

All train services will be replaced by a mix of express and stopping all stations coach services, for more information, please see a V/Line staff member.

Corio carpark upgrade works

2 May - 16 Jun 2026

Geelong line

The car park will be closed on various days between 2 June to 16 June while upgrade works are completed. 

A temporary carpark will be open during these works.

Coaches replace trains on the Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines

31 May 2026

Gippsland line

Due to maintenance works on the metropolitan network, coaches replace Traralgon and Bairnsdale line trains for part of the journey on Sunday 31 May.
 
From Southern Cross Station:
Coaches will replace trains from Southern Cross to East Pakenham. Trains will run from East Pakenham to Traralgon.

From Traralgon:
Trains to Southern Cross will terminate at East Pakenham. Coaches will replace trains from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.

From Bairnsdale:
Trains to Southern Cross will terminate at East Pakenham. Coaches will run from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.

Service changes on the Albury Line

The Australian Rail Track Corporation and Inland Rail are undertaking maintenance and project works along the Albury Line.

Travel advice for Euroa and Benalla passengers
 
When Albury line trains are not stopping at Euroa and Benalla stations, coach replacement services will be provided. Please use the temporary timetables to plan your journey.
 
Travelling to Melbourne:
 
Catch a coach from Euroa or Benalla to Seymour, then a Seymour Line train to Southern Cross.
 
Travelling from Melbourne:
 
Catch an Albury Line train to Seymour, then a coach to Euroa or Benalla.
 
Travelling to Albury:
 
Catch a coach replacement service from Euroa or Benalla to Albury.
 
Travelling from Albury:
 
Catch an Albury Line train to Wangaratta, then a coach to Euroa or Benalla.

Works at Euroa Station

7 Apr 2026

As part of the Inland Rail project, construction of new platforms and station facilities will take place at Euroa Station.

Car park closure

Until 12 April - limited parking will be available at the Railway Street car park. 

From 13 April - the car park will be fully closed. Alternative public parking wil be available at the Euroa Hotel car park, off McGuinness Street.

Pedestrian access changes

Pedestrian access to the station from Rowe street will be closed. Temporary pedestrian access across the rail line will be via Frost Street or Charles Street predestrian crossing. 

Coach stop relocation 

The Railway Street coach stop will be relocated to McGuinness Street for both V/Line and PTV services. 

Please allow extra time when travelling from Euroa Station. We thank passengers for their understanding while these important works take place.

Works at Benalla Station

9 Apr 2026

As part of Inland Rail works, construction of new platforms and station facilities will take place at Benalla Station from Thursday 9 April. 

Car park changes 

From 9 to 19 April - the station car park will be partially closed with limited parking available. 

From 20 April - the car park will be fully closed and designated accessible and on-street public parking will be available along Carrier Street.

V/Line coach stop relocation 

The V/Line coach pick-up and drop-off areas will be relocated to Mackellar Street.

Nunn Street level crossing closure - pedestrian detour 

From 20 April to 11 May - the Nunn Street level crossing will be closed to motorists and pedestrians. During this time, an accessible taxi will be available to transport pedestrians from one side of the crossing to the other via the road detour.
