Coaches replace Bendigo and Echuca lines trains for all or part of the journey

Bendigo line

Due to Metro maintenance and renewal works, coaches replace Bendigo and Echuca line trains for all or part of the journey from Friday night 14 August until last service Sunday 16 August.

Friday 14 August

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Bendigo, Epsom and Eaglehawk.
 
From Bendigo:
From 7pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross.

From Epsom:
The 6.56pm and 7.55pm Epsom to Southern Cross services will run as a train to Bendigo, then coaches from Bendigo to Southern Cross.

Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August

Coaches replace all trains between Southern Cross and Gisborne. Trains will run between Gisborne, Bendigo and Echuca.



Coaches will depart Southern Cross Station up to 40 minutes earlier than usual time and be a mix of express and stopping all stations.

Swan Hill Line trains will be replaced between Bendigo and Southern Cross on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August.

Coaches replace Swan Hill Line trains for part of the journey

Express coaches will run between Southern Cross and Bendigo. Trains will run between Bendigo and Swan Hill.



Footscray passengers:
Coaches will not stop at Footscray Station. Passengers should travel to Southern Cross to connect with express coaches to Swan Hill.

Bendigo and Echuca line trains will be replaced by coaches between Gisborne and Southern Cross.

Coaches replace late night trains on the Geelong Line

Due to works, coaches replace some late night trains on the Geelong Line from Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 August.

The 12.15am and 1.15am trains to Waurn Ponds will be replaced by coaches for the entire journey.

Night works between Sunshine and Deer Park

16 Aug - 19 Aug 2026

Geelong line, Ballarat line

V/Line is carrying out track maintenance works between Sunshine and Deer Park stations from Sunday 16 August to Wednesday 19 August.

Works will take place each night between 1am and 5am, with crews spending no more than a few hours in each location as they more progressively down the line.

Due to the nature of these works, there will be construction noise, additional lighting and dust present at times.

Due to maintenance works in the metropolitan area, there are service changes on the Traralgon Line from 11pm Friday 4 to last service Sunday 6 September.

Service changes at Euroa and Benalla stations

6 May - 30 Aug 2026

Inland Rail is undertaking project works along the Albury Line until Sunday 30 August.

During this time, Albury Line trains will run but will not stop at Euroa and Benalla stations. There will also be a service change to the daily 5.27pm Albury to Southern Cross train which will depart 7 minutes earlier at 5.20pm. This service will connect with coach replacement services between Seymour and Southern Cross

Coaches replace trains at Euroa and Benalla stations while Albury Line trains are not stopping there.

Due to track upgrade works, temporary speed restrictions will be in place on the Seymour Line from Wednesday 12 to Thursday 20 August.

Trains will run at slower than normal speeds on sections of the line to allow the tracks to bed down.

There will be changes to some departure times so please plan ahead and check the temporary train timetable or journey planner before you travel.

Trains to the city
 
All trains to the city will depart up to 4 minutes earlier from Seymour, Tallarook, Broadford, Kilmore East, Wandong, Heathcote Junction, Wallan and Donnybrook stations.

Coaches replace trains on the Albury Line

12 Sep - 15 Sep 2026

Due to Inland Rail works on the Albury Line, coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Albury from Saturday 12 to last service Tuesday 15 September.

Some coaches will depart up to 22 minutes earlier than usual train times, so plan ahead and check the temporary timetable before you travel.

Works at Euroa Station

7 Apr 2026

As part of the Inland Rail project, construction of new platforms and station facilities will take place at Euroa Station.

Car park closure

Until 12 April - limited parking will be available at the Railway Street car park. 

From 13 April - the car park will be fully closed. Alternative public parking wil be available at the Euroa Hotel car park, off McGuinness Street.

Pedestrian access changes

Pedestrian access to the station from Rowe street will be closed. Temporary pedestrian access across the rail line will be via Frost Street or Charles Street predestrian crossing. 

Coach stop relocation 

The Railway Street coach stop will be relocated to McGuinness Street for both V/Line and PTV services. 

Please allow extra time when travelling from Euroa Station. We thank passengers for their understanding while these important works take place.

Track maintenance works in Donnybrook

11 Aug - 3 Sep 2026

Seymour line

Over coming months, V/Line crews will be working to rerail sections of track near Donnybrook station. 
 
Works schedule
Tuesday 11 August to Thursday 20 August – 10pm – 5am
Tuesday 25 August to Thursday 3 September – 10pm – 11am
 
There will be a high level of construction noise at times, as crews replace and tamp ballast. There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and trucks, and a significant amount of dust is expected at the work sites.
The work site will be accessed via Donnybrook and Beveridge level crossings. There will be localised traffic management in place as required.

Please allow extra time when moving through the area.
 

Track maintenance works on the Seymour Line

11 Aug - 18 Sep 2026

Seymour line

Over coming months, V/Line crews will be working to replace sleepers along sections of the Seymour Line between Broadford and Craigieburn.

Works will take place each night between 10.30pm and 6.00am, with crews spending no more than two nights in each location as they move progressively down the line.

There will be a high level of construction noise as crews replace and tamp ballast. There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and trucks, and a significant amount of dust is expected at the works sites.
