Temporary train timetable on the Bendigo Line

9 Mar - 31 Mar 2026

Following major works, temporary speed restrictions are in place on the Bendigo Line until Tuesday 31 March.

During this time, trains will run at slower than normal speeds between Bendigo and Sunbury to allow the tracks to bed down.
 
There are changes to arrival and departure times so please plan ahead and check the temporary train timetable or journey planner before you travel.

Tuesday 17 March to Tuesday 31 March

Trains to the city

All Epsom, Eaglehawk and Bendigo trains to the city will depart stations up to 7 minutes earlier.
 
Trains to Bendigo, Epsom and Eaglehawk

All trains travelling towards Bendigo, Epsom and Eaglehawk arrive up to 15-20 minutes later.

Weekday changes

Coaches will replace the following weekday trains between Bendigo and Southern Cross:
 

• 5.21pm Bendigo to Southern Cross service
• 9.13pm Bendigo to Southern Cross service
• 8.31pm Southern Cross to Bendigo service
• 11.51pm Southern Cross to Bendigo service

Trains to Echuca

All trains travelling towards Echuca will arrive up to 18 minutes later.

Trains to the city

All Swan Hill Line trains to the city will depart stations up to 12 minutes earlier.

Trains to Swan Hill

All trains travelling towards Swan Hill will arrive up to 24 minutes later.

Mildura to Swan Hill coach service changes

19 Mar - 31 Mar 2026

Due to service changes on the Swan Hill train line, the following Mildura to Swan Hill coaches will depart earlier from each stop from Thursday 19 March to Tuesday 31 March.

All other services will run as normal.

• The 3.55am Mildura to Swan Hill coach will depart 6 minutes earlier at 3.49am, Euston at 4.47am, Robinvale at 4.57am, Boundary Bend at 5.27am, Wood Wood at 6.01am, nyah (1) at 6.08am, NYAH (2) at 6.09am, arriving Swan Hill at 6.29am.

• The 3.55am Mildura to Swan Hill coach will depart 12 minutes earlier at 3.43am, Euston at 4.41am, Robinvale at 4.51am, Boundary Bend at 5.21am, Wood Wood at 5.55am, nyah (1) at 6.02am, NYAH (2) at 6.03am, arriving Swan Hill at 6.23am.

 Sunday

• The 3.55am Mildura to Swan Hill coach will depart 8 minutes earlier at 3.47am, Euston at 4.45am, Robinvale at 4.55am, Boundary Bend at 5.25am, Wood Wood at 5.59am, nyah (1) at 6.06am, NYAH (2) at 6.07am, arriving Swan Hill at 6.27am.

 

• The 1.41pm Mildura to Swan Hill coach will depart 7 minutes earlier at 1.34pm, Euston at 2.32pm, Robinvale at 2.42pm, Boundary Bend at 3.12pm, Wood Wood at 3.46pm, nyah (1) at 3.53pm, NYAH (2) at 3.54pm, arriving Swan Hill at 4.14pm.

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Bendigo Line for the entire journey from Sunday 22 March to Wednesday 25 March.

From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Bendigo for the entire journey.
 
From Bendigo:
From 7.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Bendigo/Epsom/Eaglehawk for the entire journey.

From Epsom:
The 7.55pm Epsom to Southern Cross service will run as a train to Bendigo, and coaches from Bendigo to Southern Cross.

From Bendigo:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

Bridge maintenance works in Pyramid Hill

24 Mar - 3 Apr 2026

V/Line is carrying out bridge maintenance works in Pyramid Hill from Tuesday 24 March to Friday 3 April.

Works include sleeper replacements and ballast renewal and will take place each night between 9pm and 6am.

Due to the nature of these works, there will be construction noise, additional lighting and dust present at times.

Bridge maintenance works in Kerang

7 Apr - 17 Apr 2026

V/Line is carrying out bridge maintenance works in Kerang from Tuesday 7 April to Friday 17 April.

Coaches replace Geelong Line trains for part of the journey

11 Apr - 24 Apr 2026

Geelong line

Maintenance and upgrade works will take place along the Geelong Line from Saturday 11 April to Friday 24 April.

During this time coaches will replace trains between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds. Trains will run between Wyndham Vale and Southern Cross.


Changes to night services - Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 April

From 8.30pm to last service each night - coaches will replace trains for the entire journey from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds.

A temporary timetable will be in place.

Extra travel time:
Passengers should allow extra time for the journey as there may be delays when transferring between the train and coach replacement services. Please check the temporary coach replacement timetable before you travel.

Please allow an additional 40 minutes travel time for your journey.

Due to track upgrade works, temporary speed restrictions will be in place on a section of the Bairnsdale Line from Sunday 8 February to Tuesday 31 March.

During this time, trains will run at slower than normal speeds between Bairnsdale and Rosedale to allow the tracks to bed down.

Trains to the city

All trains to the city will depart up to 6 minutes earlier from Bairnsdale, Stratford, Sale and Rosedale stations.

Coaches replace evening trains on the Traralgon Line

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Traralgon Line for the entire journey on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March.

From Southern Cross Station:
From 8pm to last service – coaches will replace trains from Southern Cross to Traralgon.

From Traralgon:
From 8.30pm to last service – coaches will replace trains from Traralgon to Southern Cross.

Coaches will not stop at Flinders Street, Richmond, Clayton or Berwick stations.

Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.
