Coaches replace Geelong Line trains for all or part of the journey

Geelong line
Due to Metro Tunnel Project works, coaches replace trains on the Geelong Line for all or part of the journey from Friday night 10 July to last service Saturday 11 July.

A temporary timetable will be in place.

Friday night 10 July

Coaches replace trains for the entire journey between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds.

To Southern Cross
From 10.00pm until last service.

From Southern Cross
From 11.15pm until last service.

Saturday 11 July

Coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Wyndham Vale. Trains will run between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds.
 
Important travel advice:

Major rail disruptions – allow extra time:
There will also be disruptions on the Warrnambool, Ballarat, Ararat, Maryborough, Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines as well as the Sunbury, Werribee and Williamstown lines.

The replacement coach terminal at Southern Cross Station will be extremely busy on Saturday 11 July.

Please allow extra time for your journey, follow directional signage and listen for announcements.

Footscray passengers:
A limited number of V/Line replacement coaches will stop at Footscray Station - please check the temporary timetable for arrival/departure times.

Passengers can also travel to Southern Cross to connect with express coaches to Wyndham Vale.

Passengers connecting with regional coaches along the Geelong Line:
If your journey begins at Southern Cross, Footscray, Sunshine, Deer Park or Tarneit, please allow plenty of extra time to make your coach connection at Geelong Station.

Passengers with accessibility needs are advised to call 1800 800 007 before travelling so we can provide the best possible service for your journey.

General Information  
  • There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services
  • No pets or hot food/liquids allowed on replacement coaches
  • Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare
  • In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street
  • Customers with accessibility needs please call 1800 800 007 before travelling
