V/Line service changes

Coaches replace Warrnambool Line trains for part of the journey

10 Apr - 20 May 2026

Maintenance and upgrade works will take place along the Warrnambool Line from Friday night 10 April to Friday 24 April.

Coaches will continue to replace trains between Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool from Saturday 25 April to Monday 4 May and from Friday 8 May to Wednesday 20 May, while works are completed on a stabling facility at Warrnambool Station. 

Friday night 10 April - service changes
The 5.09pm and 7.25pm Southern Cross to Warrnambool trains will terminate at Waurn Ponds, coaches will run from Waurn Ponds to Warrnambool.

Saturday 11 April to Friday 24 April 

Coaches replace trains between Warrnambool and Wyndham Vale. Trains will run between Wyndham Vale and Southern Cross.



Saturday 25 April to Monday 4 May and Friday 8 May to Wednesday 20 May

Coaches replace trains between Warrnambool and Waurn Ponds. Trains will run between Waurn Ponds and Southern Cross.

Coaches will depart from Warrnambool Line stations up to 30 minutes earlier than usual train times.


Trains will run from Tuesday 5 May to Thursday 7 May

Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line

Due to V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line from Sunday 10 to Wednesday 13 May.

Sunday 10 May 

From Southern Cross Station:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.
 
From Waurn Ponds:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

Monday 11 – Wednesday 13 May

From Southern Cross Station:
From 9pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.

From 8pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line

Due to maintenance work on the metropolitan network, coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line on Saturday 23 May.

From Southern Cross Station:

From 8.30pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds for the entire journey.
 
From Waurn Ponds:

From 8pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross for the entire journey.

Carpark closure at Warrnambool Station

7 Apr - 20 May 2026

Due to Warrnambool Stabling Yard works, the carpark at Warrnambool Station will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 7 April until Wednesday 20 May. 

Accessible parking spaces will still be available on Merri Street at the front of the station. 

Limited parking will be available in the car park on Artillery Cres near the RSL. Off-street parking is also available on Merri Crescent.

Signage and traffic management will be in place at the station.

Service changes on the Albury Line

The Australian Rail Track Corporation and Inland Rail are undertaking maintenance and project works along the Albury Line.

Travel advice for Euroa and Benalla passengers
 
When Albury line trains are not stopping at Euroa and Benalla stations, coach replacement services will be provided. Please use the temporary timetables to plan your journey.
 
Travelling to Melbourne:
 
Catch a coach from Euroa or Benalla to Seymour, then a Seymour Line train to Southern Cross.
 
Travelling from Melbourne:
 
Catch an Albury Line train to Seymour, then a coach to Euroa or Benalla.
 
Travelling to Albury:
 
Catch a coach replacement service from Euroa or Benalla to Albury.
 
Travelling from Albury:
 
Catch an Albury Line train to Wangaratta, then a coach to Euroa or Benalla.

Coaches replace Seymour and Shepparton line trains

27 Apr - 25 May 2026

Seymour line

Due to Inland Rail and V/Line maintenance works, coaches replace Seymour and Shepparton line trains from Monday 27 April to Monday 25 May.


Monday 27 April

From Southern Cross:
From 9.30pm to last service - coaches will replace trains from Southern Cross to Seymour.


Tuesday 28 April to Monday 25 May

Coaches replace all trains between Southern Cross, Seymour and Shepparton.

Replacement coaches will be a mix of express and stopping all stations services. Coaches will not stop at Essendon Station.
 

Please note that coaches will also replace Albury Line trains for the entire journey from Tuesday 28 April to Tuesday 5 May. More information available here.

Works at Euroa Station

7 Apr 2026

As part of the Inland Rail project, construction of new platforms and station facilities will take place at Euroa Station.

Car park closure

Until 12 April - limited parking will be available at the Railway Street car park. 

From 13 April - the car park will be fully closed. Alternative public parking wil be available at the Euroa Hotel car park, off McGuinness Street.

Pedestrian access changes

Pedestrian access to the station from Rowe street will be closed. Temporary pedestrian access across the rail line will be via Frost Street or Charles Street predestrian crossing. 

Coach stop relocation 

The Railway Street coach stop will be relocated to McGuinness Street for both V/Line and PTV services. 

Please allow extra time when travelling from Euroa Station. We thank passengers for their understanding while these important works take place.

Works at Benalla Station

9 Apr 2026

As part of Inland Rail works, construction of new platforms and station facilities will take place at Benalla Station from Thursday 9 April. 

Car park changes 

From 9 to 19 April - the station car park will be partially closed with limited parking available. 

From 20 April - the car park will be fully closed and designated accessible and on-street public parking will be available along Carrier Street.

V/Line coach stop relocation 

The V/Line coach pick-up and drop-off areas will be relocated to Mackellar Street.

Nunn Street level crossing closure - pedestrian detour 

From 20 April to 11 May - the Nunn Street level crossing will be closed to motorists and pedestrians. During this time, an accessible taxi will be available to transport pedestrians from one side of the crossing to the other via the road detour.

Shepparton Station maintenance works

27 Apr - 11 May 2026

V/Line crews will carry out maintenance and upgrade works in Shepparton from Monday 27 April to Monday 11 May.

Works will take place each day between 6.30am and 6.30pm.

What to be aware of
There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and a high level of construction noise and additional lighting and dust in the area.

Bridge maintenance works

28 Apr - 10 May 2026

Seymour line

Tuesday 28 April to Sunday 10 May

V/Line is carrying out bridge maintenance works on the Seymour Line, including sleeper replacements and ballast renewal in Donnybrook, Kilmore East and Dry Creek. Works will take place around the clock. 

Due to the nature of these works, there will be construction noise, additional lighting and dust present at times. Equipment and machinery will be stored at the laydown area on vacant blocks along the rail corridor.

Works on the Seymour Line

28 Apr - 11 May 2026

Seymour line

Tuesday 28 April to Monday 11 May

V/Line is carrying out track maintenance works in Seymour. Works will take place each day between 6am and 6pm and will include earth works, tamping and sleeper replacements.

Crews will start setting up the site and bring machinery and equipment in from Thursday 16 April. Construction vehicles will move in and out of the work site via Eliza Street. Access to properties on Eliza Street will be maintained with traffic management in place.

Car park changes at Kilmore East Station

28 Apr - 11 May 2026

Seymour line

V/Line crews will carry out maintenance and upgrade works at Kilmore East Station from Tuesday 28 April to Monday 11 May.

Car park changes 
While works are completed, there will be temporary car space closures. 

Works schedule
Works will take place round the clock on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April.

From Thursday 30 April to Monday 11 May, day works will be completed between 7am and 7pm.

What to be aware of

• There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and trucks accessing the work site from Ogradys Road
• A moderate level of construction noise as crews replace and tamp ballast
• Additional lighting during night works
• A significant amount of dust generated from the work site.

Seymour Station underpass works

Seymour line

Tuesday 28 April to Monday 11 May 

V/Line crews will carry out round the clock maintenance and improvement works on the 
pedestrian underpass at Seymour Station.

The underpass will be closed to pedestrians from Tuesday 28 April until Monday 11 May. 
Detours will be in place via Anzac Avenue and Seymour Station can be accessed via the 
pedestrian ramp on Dowling Avenue.

Please note that these works will be carried out while coaches are replacing trains along the 
Seymour Line between Southern Cross and Seymour due to V/Line and Inland Rail works. 

What to expect

There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and a high level of construction noise 
during the day and night as well as additional lighting and dust in the area.
