Put on a miner’s hat, descend 61 metres beneath the surface of Bendigo, and be guided through the honeycomb of tunnels where almost one tonne of gold was unearthed.

With only the light on the cap to light your path, discover what conditions were really like for miners during the harsh gold rush era. Extra activities are available during school holidays.

Bendigo is approximately two hours by train from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station.

The Central Deborah Gold Mine is located on the corner of High and Violet streets, just a 20 minute walk from Bendigo Station.

By tram, catch the Talking Tram from the Alexandra Fountain stop at Pall Mall to the end of the line. Visit the Talking Tram website for more information. Please note, V/Line tickets are not valid on Vintage ‘Talking’ Tram services.

Your V/Line ticket is valid for travel on the Bendigo Transit Service at no extra cost. Tip: Travelling on V/Line during off-peak times is more convenient and cheaper!
