Resting along Victoria’s famous Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool features a broad range of attractions such as Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum, a thriving arts scene and great dining spots.

Between May and October, spot the Southern Right whales from Logans Beach, or book a local charter to get up close with them. Keep up to date with all the latest whale sightings here.

The kids will love a visit to the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum which tells the story of the treacherous Shipwreck Coast where 180 ships have come to grief. Stay on into the evening and experience "Shipwrecked", a stunning sound and laser show.

For a relaxing afternoon take a stroll through town and visit the many galleries that are part of the thriving local arts community and then grab some lunch at one of the many gourmet cafes.

Closest station/stop

From Melbourne's Southern Cross Station, catch a Warrnambool bound train and get off at Warrnambool Station. The journey takes a little over three hours.

V/Line also offers bus services linking Warrnambool with other towns around Victoria.

Tip: Travelling on V/Line during off-peak times is more convenient and cheaper!

Warrnambool Station is an easy five-minute walk from the town centre. Warrnambool City Council has a range of great maps available on their website. 

Local buses depart Warrnambool Station regularly.
