Coaches replace evening trains on the Gippsland Line

Due to Metro maintenance works, coaches replace evening Gippsland Line trains for all or part of the journey from Tuesday 10 to Wednesday 11 June.

 
Tuesday 10 to Wednesday 11 June

From Southern Cross Station:
 
  • From 8pm to last service – coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to East Pakenham, with trains operating between East Pakenham and Traralgon.
  • Some replacement coaches will depart earlier than the normal train timetable.

From Traralgon:
 
  • The 6.53pm and 8.24pm services will be replaced by coaches from Traralgon to Southern Cross for the entire journey.
From Bairnsdale:
 
  • The 6.06pm service to Southern Cross will operate a train between Bairnsdale and East Pakenham, and will be replaced by coaches from East Pakenham to Southern Cross.

Coaches will not stop at Flinders Street, Richmond, Clayton or Berwick stations.

Please allow an additional 60 minutes’ travel time for your journey.

General Information  
  • There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services.
  • No pets or hot food allowed on replacement coaches.
  • Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare.
  • The Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.
  • Coaches will not stop at Clayton Station. Customers should take a Metro service to and from Dandenong.
  • Coaches will not stop at Richmond Station. Customers should take a Metro service to and from Southern Cross Station or Caulfield.
