Planned Service Change

Service changes on the Warrnambool Line

Due to Metro Tunnel Project works, there will be service changes on the Warrnambool Line on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July.

Warrnambool Line trains will run between Warrnambool and Waurn Ponds.

Passengers travelling to or from Southern Cross:

To city - catch a train to Waurn Ponds, then an express coach from Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross.

From city –catch an express coach from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds, then a train to Warrnambool.

Coaches will not stop at Footscray Station.

To Footscray – first catch an express coach to Southern Cross, then transfer to a V/Line replacement coach to Footscray.

From Footscray - first catch a V/Line replacement coach to Southern Cross, then transfer to a Warrnambool Line express coach.

Passengers traveling to or from Marshall, South Geelong, Geelong, North Geelong, North Shore, Corio, Lara, Little River, Wyndham Vale, Tarneit, Deer Park and Sunshine:

Travel on a Warrnambool Line train between Warrnambool and Waurn Ponds and on a Geelong Line train between Waurn Ponds and Sunshine.  

A temporary coach replacement timetable will be in place.

Passengers with accessibility needs are advised to call 1800 800 007 before travelling so we can provide the best possible service for your journey.

Please allow extra time for your journey.

General Information  
  • There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services
  • No pets or hot food/liquids allowed on replacement coaches
  • Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare
  • In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street
  • Customers with accessibility needs please call 1800 800 007 before travelling
