Level Crossing maintenance works in Nar Nar Goon

Gippsland line
V/Line crews will carry out maintenance works on the Nar Nar Goon level crossing from 11pm Friday 20 March to 9.30pm Sunday 22 March.
 
Works will take place around the clock, and the level crossing will be closed to motorists
and pedestrians.

During this time, crews will:
• Upgrade the tracks at the level crossing
• Upgrade the pedestrian crossing
• Renew the asphalt on the road that runs across the level crossing
 
What to expect
Nar Nar Goon Road will be closed at the level crossing.
Detours and signage will be in place as well as localised traffic management.
Please note that the road detour will take motorists up to 20 minutes so please allow extra time when travelling through the area.
 
Pedestrian crossing closed
The level crossing will be closed to pedestrians. A taxi service will be available to move pedestrians from one side of the level crossing to the other, via the road detour in place.
This is a turn up and go system. If the taxi is not there when you arrive at the crossing, please speak to traffic management staff. Due to traffic conditions the taxi may take 20 minutes to complete the detour.
The level crossing will re-open to motorists and pedestrians from 9.30pm on Sunday 22 March.
 
What to be aware of
There will be regular movement of heavy machinery and a high level of construction noise during the day and night and additional lighting and dust in the area.
