We also run bus services contracted by the Department of Transport, often with V/Line livery.
Fares and ticketsWe have a range of great value fares. Travelling at off peak times is cheapest and we have discounts for commuters, families, groups and holders of certain concession cards.
Victoria’s new smartcard ticketing system – myki – is available on V/Line services between Melbourne and Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Seymour and Traralgon. See myki page for full information. Longer distance service still require a V/Line paper ticket.
You can buy tickets at all staffed V/Line stations, most Metro trains premium stations and at any V/Line ticket sales agent. See where to buy tickets for full details.

On boardAll V/Line trains have a conductor on board, who’ll be happy to help you with any enquiries. Toilets, air conditioning and water fountains are available.
Our bus services also have air conditioning and toilets, though toilets may not be available on some rail-replacement coaches.
If you’re travelling on a reserved service to Bairnsdale, Swan Hill, Shepparton or Warrnambool we also have catering. See onboard food and drinks to view the menu and special offers.
Metropolitan MelbourneIf you’re travelling to Melbourne, you can use metropolitan trains, trams and buses at no extra cost. Just show your V/Line ticket to ticket barrier staff or your bus driver. See included metropolitan travel for more info.

When approaching your destination station, please make sure you are ready to get off the train. The train won't wait long at a station, so if you are not ready you may miss your stop.
