Reservations
Reservations are compulsory on all services travelling to or from:

  • Albury/Wodonga
  • Ararat
  • Bairnsdale
  • Echuca
  • Maryborough
  • Shepparton
  • Swan Hill
  • Warrnambool
They are are required for all journeys on reserved trains, even if you're only travelling a short distance.

Reserved services are shaded in timetables, and are shown in 'Plan a journey | Buy tickets' with an 'R' for 'reservations required'.

Reservations are not required on trains travelling to or from all other destinations including Geelong/Marshall, Ballarat/Wendouree, Bendigo/Eaglehawk, Seymour and Traralgon.


Making a reservationBuy tickets online and we'll make your reservation for you.  If there's enough time, we'll post your tickets, otherwise you can pick them up at any V/Line ticket sales outlet once we send you the reservation number.
