Echuca Family Itinerary

Echuca Family Itinerary

Echuca, located right on the Murray River, is affectionately known as Victoria’s paddleboat heartland. Perfect for a day trip or weekend away, Echuca combines exquisite cuisine, aquatic activities and exciting attractions all within stunning natural surrounds.

Echuca has the largest operating fleet of paddle steamers in the world. So begin your stay by choosing a day or overnight cruise option, and hop aboard! The entire family will be charmed and enchanted as you explore the Murray in style and admire the picturesque surrounds.

If you’re after something a little more fast-paced on the water, why not try wakeboarding, water-skiing, knee-boarding, bare-footing or tubing. Local operators will be more than happy to assist you with equipment hire. Age or experience is no barrier. There are also experienced qualified drivers and instructors to make your time fun, safe and exciting.

After your aquatic adventures, stop by the Echuca Historical Society Museum, located at 1 Dickson Street, where a collection of works listed on the National Trust await you. Textiles, books, photography and documents, plus much more, all showcase Echuca from a by-gone era. There is also a wing dedicated to the Echuca District Hospital showcasing early nursing and explaining medical developments.

Echuca is a region of Victoria renowned for exceptional food and wine. For an afternoon of indulgence, take the family and discover hidden gems along the food and wine trail. The first of its kind established for Echuca, the trail leads to local restaurants, cafes and wineries that offer delicious and memorable dining options. For a copy of the food and wine trail, visit the Echuca and District Visitor Information Centre, located in the Old Pump Station, 2 Heygarth Street.

If the kids have energy to burn, treat them to a trip to OzMaze, located beside the roundabout at Moama Bridge, where they will be entertained for hours. Get lost in an Australian shaped maze and work together as a family, or individually, to get yourself out!

After the maze, try your hand at mini golf. With a professionally constructed course, it is a fun and challenging experience for the whole family to enjoy.
