Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough line service changes

Ballarat line
Due to Metro Tunnel Project, Sunbury Line Upgrade and V/Line maintenance works, coaches will replace some Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough line services for all or part of the journey from 8.30pm Friday 26 February to Tuesday 9 March. 

Due to the Ferris Road closure, passengers who usually travel to or from Cobblebank Station are encouraged to use Melton Station instead for a faster journey over the weekend.

Friday 26 February

Coaches will replace all trains between Southern Cross and Ballarat/Wendouree from 8.30pm.

Saturday 27 February and Sunday 28 February

Coaches will replace all Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough services between Southern Cross and Melton, connecting with trains between Melton, Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough.

Please note that coaches from Southern Cross to Melton will depart up to 25 minutes earlier than usual train times. Please check before you travel.

Monday 1 March to Tuesday 9 March

Coaches will replace all trains between Southern Cross and Ballarat/Wendouree from 8.30pm each night.
Please allow an additional 45 minutes for your journey.

All train services will be replaced by a mix of express and stopping all stations coach services, for more information, please see a V/Line staff member.
 
 
General Information
  • There is limited space for bikes on V/Line trains and coach replacement services.
  • No pets or hot food/liquids allowed on replacement coaches.
  • Customers require a valid myki or paper ticket to travel on all V/Line replacement coach services. Please touch on and touch off your myki to ensure you pay the correct fare.
  • In Melbourne, coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal located on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.
