Try Before You Ride Geelong
Published: Fri 2 Sep 2016
Geelong Railway Station hosted its first Try Before You Ride event on Wednesday 31 August, giving people of all abilities the opportunity to familiarise themselves with different modes of public transport.
Attendees practiced boarding and alighting various modes of transport including a VLocity train, V/Line coach, low floor bus and accessible taxi.
The event helped parents with children, the elderly, people with disability as well as regular and occasional travellers boost their confidence when travelling on public transport.
The day was hosted by V/Line and supported by Public Transport Victoria, Bus Association Victoria, Trotters Coaches, McHarry’s Bus and the Taxi Services Commission.
Each of the operators had staff on hand at the station, including drivers and customer service staff, to offer assistance and answer questions.
Try Before You Ride events are hosted across the V/Line network. To find more information about the next event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
