Geelong line disruption Friday 3 June
Published: Wed 8 Jun 2016
V/Line sincerely apologises for the delays and inconvenience caused on the Geelong line on Friday 3 June 2016.
A train fault between Tarneit Station and Robinsons Road blocked services from using the single-direction track, causing the Geelong line to be suspended.
V/Line’s maintenance crew tried to move the defective train as quickly as possible, but due to a seized bearing on the engine, it needed special equipment.
V/Line worked to source coaches in an effort to get customers to their destination, however many were being used on the morning school runs.
At the same time, a safety restriction on metropolitan level crossings prevented VLocity trains from using the Werribee line to get trains to and from Geelong.
Customers whose services were delayed by 60 minutes or more are entitled to a myki refund and this can be arranged by calling 1800 800 007.
