Don’t run the risk
Published: Mon 15 Aug 2016
Rail Safety Week starts today and the V/Line team will be out in force reminding customers not to run the risk around trains.
Safety themed breakfast barbecues will held at Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Seymour and Traralgon stations, check out the table below and head to a station near you for a bacon and egg roll.
The V/Line team will be on hand at each barbecue to answer your queries and share train safety tips.
Authorised Officers will also visit some level crossings across the network to hand out safety lollipops and remind pedestrians to be safe around the tracks.
Rail safety is everyone’s responsibility and we are calling on customers, pedestrians and road users to slow down and be careful any time they are near the rail environment.
Slips, trips, falls and other accidents are more likely to happen when you’re rushing so remember to take your time any time you are in the rail environment.
Rail Safety Week is an initiative of the trackSAFE foundation nationwide, click here to find out what else is on this week.
