Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival

20 Jul - 22 Jul 2018
Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival
The Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival (CDOC) is an annual three-day event held at the iconic Theatre Royal in Castlemaine from 20-22 July 2018.

CDOC’s 2018 program comprises a stunning line up of thirteen films - 6 of them Australian and 7 of them directed by women; plus 8 live Q&As, some on Skype, but the majority live on stage.

‘In an increasingly virtual world lived online, more and more people are craving the authenticity that comes from documentary films. Whether it be in the real-life characters, the real-life stories or the real-world problems dealt with in documentary, audiences are connecting with these films like never before’ explains dual Emmy Award-winning Festival Director, Geoffrey Smith.

CDOC’s world first opening night gala event is Gurrumul and will feature the film’s director, Paul Williams, and key musicians in the film in conversation with Leila Gurruwiwi, followed by a live music performance.
