The Royal Train
Step aboard and travel back in time on the Royal Train.

The Victorian Goldfields Railway is bringing the Royal Train back on the tracks during Bendigo Art Gallery's Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits exhibition.

This is your opportunity to travel like royalty in the same luxury restored carriages as Queen Elizabeth II from her epic 1954 Royal Tour and Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1983. Back then royalty travelled around Victoria on board the Royal Train and now it's your chance to do the same.

The Royal Train consists of five luxury carriages from the last century, two of which were built and used exclusively for Royal and Vice-Regal trains.

The experience will take you between Castlemaine and Bendigo in regal style. As part of the journey, passengers will move through the dining carriage and the sleeping quarters.

Choose to travel in either Royal or First Class, one way or return.

Royal Class includes travel on both the Avoca Dining carriage and the Yarra Parlour carriage, plus access to both the royal State Carriages 4 and 5 used exclusively by royalty. Plus a High Tea with a selection of sweet and savoury treats and tea or coffee is included and will be served in the Avoca Dining carriage.

First Class includes travel aboard the premier Spirit of Progress carriage, with access to both the royal State Carriages 4 and 5 used exclusively by royalty. Plus a glass of local Balgownie Estate sparkling cuvee and an Indulge Fine Belgian Chocolate.

Check out more details on each of the carriages and book your ticket here. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime royal opportunity.
