What you can take - Luggage
Maximum weight and pieces
The total luggage limit for
all V/Line services is 30 kilograms.
People can carry two items of luggage, with no one item weighing more than 20
kilograms, as well as one piece of hand luggage on V/Line services free of
charge.
Checked luggage
Checked luggage is only accepted on long-distance, locomotive-hauled services,
arriving in or departing from Bairnsdale, Shepparton, Swan Hill or Warrnambool.
Luggage must be checked in at least 30 minutes before you leave. All items
must be properly packed or they will not be accepted.
Passengers
travelling on short journeys should transfer their own luggage. This way the
customer is always in possession of their own luggage. When requested, staff will
provide assistance to elderly passengers or passengers with special needs, even
if it is a short‑distance service.
You can
only carry bicycles, surfboards etc, on nominated train and coach services
where space permits. See carriage of large items for more
information.
