Getting to the groundsFooty Trains are the best way to get to the footy to support your favourite team. Train times will be available about 1 week prior to the game at vline.com.au/footy.
Once your train arrives, it’s easy to get to the grounds:
MCGThere are two train stations close‑by: Richmond and Jolimont.
Richmond From the Southern Cross Station, take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines. From here, the ground is well within walking distance.
Jolimont When you arrive at Southern Cross Station, simply change to the Hurstbridge or Epping lines. The ground is then just a five-minute walk away.
When Geelong is playing at the MCG, some of our services will go straight to Richmond Station for easy access, so no need to change to metropolitan services at Southern Cross Station. Footy timetables will show which services operate directly to Richmond.
Your V/Line ticket will include travel on metropolitan trams, trains and buses, so no need to buy a Metcard. See Your V/Line ticket is also a Metcard for more info.
See the location on the MCG website.
Etihad Stadium (formerly Telstra Dome) From Southern Cross Station, the stadium is just a four-minute walk across the Bourke Street pedestrian bridge.
See the location on the Etihad Stadium website.
Skilled Stadium We run regular services to South Geelong Station. Skilled Stadium is just a five-minute walk from the station.
See the location on the Skilled Stadium website.
