Help: V/Line Inform
V/Line Inform is our train disruption notification system. Tell us where and when you travel and we'll do our best to let you know when your service has been disrupted.
You can create or update your travel profile on our V/Line Inform page.
The following sections will help you make the most of your V/Line Inform account:

Creating an account
Create an account by clicking the "New user? Create an account here" on our V/Line Inform page.
Step 1Fill in your name, email address, optional back-up email address and a mobile number (required for SMS, optional if you're going to receive messages by email).
You'll then need to enter the security code shown (upper or lower case letters as OK). This makes sure it's a real person creating an account and not an automated system.
Step 2Choose a username and password. You'll use the username to log into the system in future. Then enter a secret question and answer (in case you forget your password and need to reset it).
Step 3Choose the line you travel on, then 'From' (where you board the train in the morning) and 'To' (where you get off).
The 'Time from' and 'Time until' is the time window in which you catch services e.g. you might catch one of two trains that depart from your station at 07:10 and 07:29, enter 07:00 until 07:30. So we don't bother you with messages that are not relevant, don't make this time window to large.
Day(s) of the week are the days you catch these services. You can enter any combination of times and days to suit your travel pattern.
Click 'Add journey' and then repeat the process for your return journey(s).
Once you've added all the times/days, click 'Next'.
Step 4Now you need to choose how we contact you (by SMS and/or email). If you have access to an email-enabled mobile, it will help us to keep costs down if you select email rather than SMS.
You can also opt in to receive other special offers and information from V/Line. We won't contact you too often and you can unsubscribe at any time (independent to your V/Line Inform membership).
Finally, tick to acknowledge you're read and accept the Terms & Conditions of service and our Privacy Policy.
Click Finish and you're done.

Stopping messages
If you want to temporarily stop messages (e.g. because you're going on holiday) simply log in on our V/Line Inform page, then click the 'How we contact you' button. Untick both 'Send me SMS' and 'Send me Email' options, then click save.
You'll get a prompt to let you know that this will stop messages. Click OK to accept.
When you're ready to receive messages, log back in and tick SMS and/or email then save.
Updating your accountLog in to your account on our V/Line Inform page and click any of these buttons at the top of the screen to change your account: 'Your journeys', 'Contact details', 'How we content you' and/or 'Change password'.
Forgotten login detailsIt happens to us all! If you can't remember your username and/or password, click the 'Forgotten login details' link on our V/Line Inform page.
Enter your username (if you remember it) or your email address if not. (if you have more than one email address, try each of them in turn). Once we find a match we'll present you with your secret question. Enter the answer and, once it's correct, you'll be prompted to change your password.
