An action packed weekend has marked the 24th year of the V/LineState Titles at the State Netball Hockey Centre on October 3rd and 4th.
In a showcase of some of the state’s best up and coming netball talent,more than a thousand spectators, players and officials watched 41 teams from 16 metropolitan and rural regions battled it out for the title of State Champions.
As well as a strong presence from long time supporters of regional netball, V/Line, Netball Victoria partnered this year with White Ribbon Day, naming the organisation as the event’s official Charity Partner. To support the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, all participants and supporters wore white ribbons and played with specially branded “Enough”netballs in all games.
Divisions taking part in the two day round robin tournament included Open, 17 & Under, 15 & Underand H Grade, for netballers with a disability,
2009 was the year for Jika, walking away with the Open and 17 & Under titles. In the 15 & Under section, 2008 Runners Up North Central went one better than last year taking out the title and it was Knox District in the H-Grade for the second successive year.
