SMS disruption alertsTell us where and when you travel and our V/Line Inform system will send you an SMS and/or email (your choice) to tell you is there are any disruptions.
The service is free and allows you make alternative arrangements, when you know there’s going to be a problem.
BenefitsAs well as big savings, you can use commuter tickets to travel at any time (including weekends) until the last service on the ticket’s expiry date.
It also means a lot less queuing for tickets!
Buying commuter tickets in advanceIn the past, you were only able to buy commuter tickets the day before their start date. That’s all changed…
Buy online Click the 'Buy tickets' tab on our homepage to buy your commuter ticket quickly at a time that suits you.
Using the ‘Buy tickets’ tab will speed up the purchase process by bypassing the journey planner.
You’ll need to buy at least a week in advance, as we need time to post your ticket to you. Pick-up is not available. Buy early You can now buy commuter tickets at staffed V/Line stations two days before their start date (three if you buy on a Friday). So beat 'Mondayitis' and morning queues by buying on a different day.
Customer consultationsAbout once a month, members of the V/Line senior management travel on one train line to solicit your feedback.
You can find the results of the last consultation on your dedicated commuter info page:
PerformanceAs a regular traveller, if you have a ticket valid for 4 weeks or more, you can claim compensation if we don’t meet our performance targets.
