Peak services	Off Peak services
Morning peak: All services arriving into Melbourne* Monday to Friday before 9am.   Evening peak: All services departing Melbourne* Monday to Friday between 4pm and 6pm.	All other times including public holidays and weekends.   NB: Off peak, concession fares are not available at weekends. Peak Concession fares apply. Exception: when a public holiday falls on the weekend off peak, concession fares are available.

 

 *  Melbourne is defined as Southern Cross Station, Flinders Street Station, North Melbourne Station and Richmond Station.

Peak services are shaded grey in V/Line timetables. 

 

The Plan Your Journey tool on our homepage (help) has a ‘Peak?’ column, which shows whether a service is Peak or Off Peak.

Tickets valid for travel are:

 

Peak services	Peak Single and Peak Day Return, Weekly, Monthly, Date‑to‑Date and Yearly
Off Peak services	As above plus Off Peak Single and Off Peak Day Return.

• Tuesday 2 November (Melbourne Cup Day – Metropolitan Melbourne only)
• Sunday 26 December (Boxing Day)
• Monday 27 December (Christmas Day substitute)
