The Overland, Nhill <> Melbourne train services
V/Line is selling limited seats on The Overland train (new window), operated by Great Southern Rail (new window) to destinations within Victoria on an ongoing trial basis.
Destinations
A State Government initiative will see 12 seats provided on
each Melbourne <> Adelaide ‘Overland’ service between
these locations:
- Nhill
- Horsham
- Dimboola
- Ararat
- North Shore
- Melbourne (Southern Cross)
Timetable
Melbourne to Nhill services
depart Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Nhill to Melbourne
services depart Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Reservations
Reservations are required at
least 48 hours in advance by calling V/Line on 136 196.
V/Line priced tickets cannot be purchased on the train or through Great
Southern Rail.
Customers wishing to travel
beyond Nhill (e.g. to/from Adelaide) should purchase a standard Great Southern
Rail ticket - see the GSR website (new window).
