It’s cheaper than you think

 

$88.20 – that’s how little it costs for 2 adults and 2 children travelling to from Melbourne to Echuca and back during off peak times, including weekends.

Your V/Line ticket is also a Metcard

 

If your journey begins or ends in metropolitan Melbourne, pre-purchase your V/Line ticket.  On the day, you can use it to travel on Melbourne metropolitan public transport from your front door all the way to your arrival station at no extra cost.

Melbourne to Echuca travel information

 

Passengers travelling to Echuca have several options (Timetables):

 

  1. Board a train to Echuca – a one-way trip takes approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes
  2. Board a train to Bendigo, then catch a connecting coach to Echuca
  3. Board a train to Shepparton, then catch a connecting coach to Echuca
  4. Board a train to Murchison East, then catch a connecting coach to Echuca

Echuca Station is located an easy 15 minute walk from the town centre and historic Port of Echuca on the Murray.  Or you can catch a taxi, the fare is around $5. Local bikes are also for hire from the town centre or the Port of Echuca.
