Making your way to Victoria’s largest inland city via V/Line’s trains and coaches is easy and affordable, with frequent services and inexpensive tickets for all your travelling needs.


 

It’s cheaper than you think!

 

$50.60 – that’s how little it costs for 2 adults and 2 children travelling to from Melbourne to Ballarat and back during off peak times, including weekends.

Your V/Line ticket is also a Metcard

 

If your journey begins or ends in metropolitan Melbourne, pre-purchase your V/Line ticket.  On the day, you can use it to travel on Melbourne metropolitan public transport from your front door all the way to your arrival station at no extra cost.

Melbourne to Ballarat travel information

 

Trains between Ballarat and Melbourne run frequently (Timetables) and a one-way trip takes approximately 76 minutes.

Route: Take in the scenery of Melbourne’s suburbs and the Victorian Goldfield towns.

Local buses depart Ballarat Station regularly. Your V/Line ticket is valid for travel on these bus services at no extra cost.

 


Route 8 will take you to the Eureka Centre and the Wildlife Park
