Discovery Science and Technology Centre
At the
Discovery Centre, you could be forgiven for thinking the humble slippery slide
has been turned into an extreme sport.
The centre features Australia’s largest slide, rising 7m tall, which is popular
with kids and adults alike – providing a wild ride ending up with entangled
limbs, giggles and shrieks of enjoyment at the bottom.
In the
centre’s theatre, simple explosions are demonstrated using everyday items such
as balloons and Milo tins. Combustible gas and naked flames combine to create a
series of eye-popping explosions, and gasps of wonderment from the kids.
Visitors can also marvel at the planetarium, and spend some quality time gazing
up at the stars.
