Eureka Centre
To see the real location of the Eureka rebellion, head to
the aptly named suburb of Eureka.
Located on the field where it all happened is the Eureka Centre (new window), which tells the story of the rebellion, its
origins and the ongoing repercussions for democracy in Australia.
See a mock
trial in the courtroom of the miners who rebelled against authority, and learn
the story of the Pikeman’s Dog, who was awarded a purple cross by the RSPCA for
guarding the body of his master, who died in the rebellion.

Eureka Centre’s website (new window)
