
Golden Mile Race Day, Bendigo, 17 MarchWith more than $700,000 in prize money this new racing event is sure to be a golden day out in Bendigo. The high stakes’ day will get the hearts pumping this March as it marks its place on the country racing calendar for years to come.
There will be Fashions on the Field, local food and produce, music and entertainment – so get ready for a great day out! Why not make a weekend of it and stay overnight and take in the Grace Kelly Exhibition or other attractions in beautiful Bendigo.
V/Line packages to the Golden Mile Race day are on sale now, and include return economy V/Line travel to Bendigo, transfers from Bendigo Station to the racecourse and general admission. Package prices are listed to the right.
Country racing is great way to get out of town and enjoy the day without the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan racing meets. And when travelling V/Line there is no need for a convoy of cars and obligatory designated drivers - you can relax and enjoy the beautiful Victorian countryside on the trip up.
Please note: due to trackworks in the metropolitan area, buses will replace trains on the Bendigo line between Melbourne and Sunbury on the weekend of 17-18 March. Trains will operate between Sunbury, Bendigo and Echuca, and between Bendigo and Swan Hill. Customers travelling from Melbourne to Bendigo need to allow an extra 40 minutes in travel time. Detailed information will be available on this website closer to the date.
Getting thereCatch the 08:15, 09:15 or 10:35 Bendigo service from Melbourne's Southern Cross Station, which will arrive Bendigo at 11:01, 12:01 and 12:58. Please note this service will run as a coach to Sunbury where trains to Bendigo connect. Coach transfers to the race course will depart Bendigo Station between 11am and 1pm. Coaches return to the station to connect with 17:35 and 18:40 services back to Melbourne.

No BYO alcohol
This racecourse has strict policies against racegoers bringing their own alcohol. Racecourse staff will search all bags and eskies at the entrance and confiscate any alcohol found. If you have any questions regarding a particular club’s policy, please contact them directly.
Additionally, customers who bring their own alcohol are prohibited from consuming it on board V/Line services. We advise you not bring alcohol with you on the day, as Authorised Officers will be present on race trains.
