WoodendWoodend sits at the base of the mysterious Hanging Rock.

It is a picturesque rural town with a cosmopolitan feel. Enjoy the cafes and restaurants on the main street or the natural beauty of surrounding walks, all within a short distance of the station.

Woodend is a haven for food lovers; with award winning bakery treats, delicious local produce, boutique beers and amazing local wines visitors are spoilt for choice. The Five Mile Creek Walk provides an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area. It’s 3km return walk and features a black gum reserve. The Children’s Play Park is also located along this trail.

Campaspe House is a must-see, featuring an exquisite country garden designed by Edna Walling - one of Australia's finest and most influential landscape designers. With open fires and terrace seating, it’s a perfect place to stop and enjoy high tea.  For those looking to explore the local art scene, small galleries are scattered throughout Woodend featuring unique pieces by local artists.

During the colder months, Woodend comes to life with the annual Woodend Winter Arts Festival, which celebrates a huge range of artistic mediums, from writing to performance.
