WarragulWarragul is a thriving rural town set amongst rolling green hills and dairy fields with plenty to offer visitors of all ages.
Warragul’s rich soils provide lush grazing for cattle and the region is a major producer of Melbourne’s milk.
The Warragul Historical Museum and the Warragul Vintage Craft Park, which contains functioning examples of old farm equipment and a miniature steam train, are terrific starting points to a visit to the town.
For those who love arts and crafts, Warragul offers numerous galleries and studios, including the Lillico Glass studio where you can watch the artisan glass blowers hand make delicate glass sculptures.
The local markets are a terrific source of local produce; a visit to Lardner Park Market is a must to collect scrumptious cheeses, wines, tasty pasta, freshly brewed tea and coffee, zesty fruit juices and home style baking. Sign up for a winery tour and enjoy some exceptional wines from local vineyards.
Foodies should plan their visit for March, when the region hosts a number of culinary events as part of the Gippsland Food and Wine Festival. Other events include the Be inspired! Arts Festival in May and the National Exhibition of Photography in July.
