CamperdownCamperdown offers visitors the chance to relax and unwind with a stroll through the leafy streets, a bite to eat in the local cafes and a chance to visit its unique craft markets.
A few minutes from the station, you’ll find the Gothic Manifold Clock Tower, built in 1897, the Tower sits in a wide elm-lined street in the centre of town. Other interesting sites include a Georgian style Court House and the Theatre Royal.
Also popular with tourists is the Camperdown Museum, which is housed in the former Odd Fellows Hall (1896) and contains items of historical significance to the region, including a collection of rare Aboriginal artefacts.
The Camperdown Botanic Gardens are a short walk away and overlook nearby Lake Bullen Merri and Lake Gnotuk.
The town also hosts a boutique craft market on the first Sunday of every month, and is home to the Leura Festival, held in the last week of February every year.
Getting thereFrom Southern Cross Station, catch the Warrnambool train on the Geelong line to Camperdown Station. The journey takes approximately 2 1/2 hours.
V/Line also offers bus services linking Camperdown with other towns around Victoria.
