Pioneer Settlement (Swan Hill)The Pioneer Settlement, situated alongside the picturesque banks of the Little Murray River, is a place that leaves you wanting more.
From the moment you enter, you are transported back into a typical 1920s Mallee street. The sounds of the music shop pianola blend with the horses’ hooves and the laughter of tourists enjoying free horse and cart rides.
Add to your visit a cruise aboard the PS Pyap, dressing up in costume, a walk on Pental Island, a chat with Uncle Bruce about local indigenous culture, and a Sound and Light show at night.
Special V/Line offerWith a V/Line ticket you’ll receive a FREE upgrade from a Settlers Ticket (admission and pyap river cruise) to a Squatters Ticket (admission, pyap river cruise and sound and light show). Not valid with any other offer.
Getting therePioneer Settlement is located on Monash Drive, about one kilometre from the city centre. Catch a V/Line train from Melbourne's Southern Cross Station to Swan Hill. This train trip takes around four hours and 20 minutes.
