National Wool MuseumExplore the journey of wool from the sheep’s back to the clothes rack, through interactive and interesting displays at the National Wool Museum.

Kids can operate some of the wool processing machines, play with different weaving techniques and even check out a sock-making machine in action.

Check out the million-dollar bale - the richest wool to ever be produced and sold in Australia, and ask one of the volunteer guides about the ghost rumoured to haunt the halls of the heritage building after dark.

Getting thereGeelong is about an hour by train from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station.

The National Wool Museum is within the Visitors’ Centre at 26 Moorabool Street near the Geelong foreshore. It is a five minute walk from Geelong Station. Check Google maps for walking directions.

Visit our interactive map to find this and other nearby attractions.

Your V/Line ticket is valid for travel on the Geelong Transit system at no extra cost. If you’re travelling from a metropolitan station, you’ll also get free travel on trams, trains and buses. For more information see included metropolitan travel.

Tip: Travelling on V/Line during off-peak times is more convenient and cheaper!
