Ballarat Wildlife ParkIf you feel like getting up close and personal with some of Australia’s most fascinating fauna, then head to Ballarat’s fabulous Wildlife Park.

There are guided tours and feeding demonstrations throughout the day where you’ll see everything from kangaroos and koalas to emus and wombats, even spotted tail quolls.

Check out the reptile house with its resident lizards, snakes, turtles, alligators and crocodiles.

Getting there
Take a train to Ballarat. Services from Melbourne Southern Cross Station run frequently, and the trip takes just over an hour.

When you get to Ballarat Station, take take bus route 8 to Fussell Street.

Remember - the cost of the bus is included in your V/line fare - just show your V/Line ticket as you board.

From Sovereign Hill

If you're coming from Sovereign Hill you can catch bus route 9 to Fussell Street.
