Melbourne Museum Melbourne Museum is part of a world class tourism precinct, combining the World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens and one of only two IMAX theatres in Australia.
Visitors can take a journey through Aboriginal history, explore Melbourne’s unique and changing tale and marvel at Australia’s legendary racehorse, Phar Lap.
For the little ones there is a world designed just for them, and those a bit older can expand their imagination to the times of the dinosaurs and visit the new Wild! display with more than 750 different animals from around the world. There are also giant crystals, gold nuggets, uncut diamonds and an explosive 3D volcano!

Getting there The Melbourne Museum is located at 11 Nicholson Street, Carlton.
V/Line has services to Melbourne from all over Victoria, taking you to Southern Cross Station, the city’s transport hub.
By tram Catch either Tram 86 or Tram 96 from Bourke Street and Spencer Street to Stop 12 at Gertrude and Nicholson Streets Fitzroy. The Museum is a 10 minutes walk from this stop along Nicholson Street.
