Train Training program
School children can put themselves at danger playing in and around rail reserves, crossing rail lines, or standing too close to the edge of the station platform as trains arrive and depart.

Train Training is an educational kit designed to teach children the risks of inappropriate behaviour around train lines and stations.

Each kit is designed for primary school aged children and includes:

  • A DVD created by V/Line with Metlink that features messages aimed at improving the safety and awareness of primary school aged children. Topics covered include standing behind the yellow line on station platforms, crossing train lines only where it is marked safe to do so, and watching the gap between the train and station platform when entering or exiting a train.

  • Activity sheets that include a word search puzzle, colouring pages, a maze and spot the difference for pupils to complete.

  • A series of four classroom posters featuring key safety messages.
