V/Line works closely with regional Victorian schools to help educate young people about being safe around trains and train lines.

Our train services are also used by many schools as part of excursions, with about 5000 children travelling free each year as part of the My Train and Train Training school programs.

As part of these programs, resources are provided for both teachers and parents to educate children on appropriate behaviour when travelling on public transport, how to use the train safely, and what not to do around station platforms and level crossings.

Train Training provides safety information kits to schools about how to be safe around trains and stations. Through the My Train program Up to 20 primary school aged pupils and four accompanying adults could be eligible for complimentary free travel returning the same day.
