
Lisa Stolt, Segment Manager – Outbound Market
For the last four months I’ve been the Segment Manager for
the Outbound Market. I market V/Line to Melburnians who are considering heading
to discover regional Victoria. It’s my job to fill those V/Line seats!
Before this I worked for two years as the Segment Manager
for the commuter market – encouraging people to take V/Line instead of driving
into the Melbourne CBD. Prior to that I worked as the Senior Marketing
Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator.
The work environment in Australia is a lot more laid-back
than in other countries I’ve worked in. People still work very hard but there’s
definitely a different style to it. And the people at V/Line are friendly, very
reliable and this came across from day one. There’s a real ‘can-do’ attitude
here and I’ve seen V/Line become a more impressive operation since I’ve been
here.
One of the things I really love about this place is you can
try different things. If you have an idea, then it’s likely you’ll be able to
try it out.
I’d definitely love to move into the Marketing Manager role
here one day. This business is growing incredibly well. People realise that the
train is becoming the best option financially, but also environmentally and
we’re here ensuring they’re aware of those advantages.
Marketing
Main duties:

market research and market trends,

producing

working with
agencies to produce marketing and campaign materials.
Minimum qualifications: Degree in business, marketing, public relations or related degree.
Your skills: Creative, analytical,
communication, organisation, time management, problem solving, ability to work
under pressure and recognise opportunities.
