Sponsorship

Sponsorship at V/Line

V/Line recognises that sponsorship is an integral way to support communities across regional Victoria and we seek to invest in mutually beneficial and meaningful partnerships.

Sponsorship for V/Line aims to concentrate on existing and new partnerships that:

a)      contribute to the sustainable growth of V/Line; and

b)      actively engage regional Victorian communities.

V/Line will consider sponsoring activities offering opportunities to market both our inbound (travelling out of Melbourne) and outbound (travelling into Melbourne) markets.  We seek to grow and strengthen our reputation within local communities and communicate key messages.

We also look favourably on partnerships that enable and encourage participation by our employees. Priority is given to properties* that are located or conducted in regional Victoria.

Through our sponsorship programs, V/Line aims to develop a portfolio of sponsorship properties which meet our sponsorship objectives:

·         support V/Line’s vision of ‘connecting Victorian communities and industry’

·         support V/Line’s organisation-wide objective of sustainable growth of commuter and discretionary markets

·         support V/Line’s organisation-wide objective of retaining and growing V/Line’s reputation within regional Victorian communities

·         positively engage V/Line’s stakeholders (both internal and external)

·         reinforce V/Line’s values and key marketing campaign messages

·         enhance V/Line’s brand image and exposure and organisation profile

·         generate positive editorial coverage of the V/Line brand, key messages and initiatives.

Sponsorship does not include:

·         A donation, for which little or no return is expected;

·         Funds for capital works, amenities or equipment, or to pay the salary of a project officer, unless other promotional or educational benefits are a significant component of that sponsorship;

·         Advertising or promotional opportunities

If you are interested in V/Line advertising with your organisation please contact V/Line Marketing on (03) 9619 5900.  For promotional opportunities at stations or on trains please contact our Commercial team on (03) 9619 5900.

Sponsorship categories

V/Line will determine the level of contribution to a sponsorship property (major or minor) based on the property’s ability to deliver on V/Line’s sponsorship objectives.

Major Sponsorships

A long-term partnership with an organisation that is focused on and/or based in regional Victoria.  V/Line will be considered at a minimum a Major sponsor and ideally the Naming Rights Sponsor.

Castlemaine State Festival

The Castlemaine State Festival is regional Victoria’s premier festival - a 10-day celebration of the performing and visual arts.  In 2009 it ran from 27 March to 5 April.

Castlemaine State Festival began in 1976 through the vision of Berek Segan AM OBE.

The Festival program encompasses visual arts, music, theatre, opera, and dance and has been a major contributor in connecting people and developing enterprise within the regional community.

V/Line is a Major Sponsor of the 2009 Castlemaine State Festival and we are delighted to be the Presenting Partner of the inaugural Quiet Music in the Churches program.

Minor Sponsorships

Involvement with a regionally based event or community that has an obvious link with V/Line’s business. V/Line’s participation will be as an active partner with the organisers.

Applying for Major and Minor Sponsorships

Each sponsorship application received will be assessed against V/Line’s sponsorship objectives and priorities.

Please download this document, which outlines the recommended inclusions for each application: V/Line sponsorship guidelines (PDF, 60KB)

Once you have read the guidelines you can apply as follows:

Unfortunately, the number of applications seeking support will always exceed the funds available and worthwhile programs cannot be guaranteed support regardless of merit.

We recommend submitting applications well before the commencement of the project or event, to ensure that the opportunities are maximised i.e. a minimum of six months for major sponsorships and three months for minor sponsorships.

Please Note: V/Line encourages you to make provisional enquiries to evaluate the suitability of your project to V/Line’s sponsorship objectives prior to submitting your application.
