More about the VLocity
Bombardier, in Dandenong, Victoria, manufactures the VLocity.
There are
currently 40 VLocity trains in operation, consisting of two- or three-carriage
units. These units can be put together to form a train of up to seven carriages,
giving V/Line the flexibility to match train sizes to customer demand.
In August
2008, extra carriages started to progressively roll-out, providing more seats
on busy services and allowing more flexible train consists.
An extra
21 VLocity middle carriages will be introduced in 2008/09 and an extra nine three‑carriage
VLocity trains will be introduced by 2012.
