Sprinter
As the
name suggests, Sprinters are high speed, diesel railcarriages.
Introduced
into service between 1993 and 1995, there are 21 Sprinters in operation that are
regularly seen on V/Line commuter services.
With an
operating speed of up to 130km/h and the capability of operating as a single
carriage or as multiple units with up to seven other Sprinters, they are an
invaluable resource to our peak hour service timetable.
