V/Line Life Training 2010
The V/Line Life Training program has been developed in conjunction with
founding partner the Victorian Country Football League (VCFL).
It has evolved over several years to become an integral education
and motivational program targeting young regional Victorians.
The aim is to educate teenagers and their families on important health topics
and give them the skills to make the correct choices when difficult decisions
arise.
The program is divided into two parts:
1.
an education session run by an industry
professional
2.
an interactive workshop, providing tools to
assist with decision-making in the future
The program is aimed at boys and girls aged 14 – 18 years, however
parents, coaches, club/league members and other community groups are welcome to
attend.
Session and registration information is shown below. The sessions are usually
run in the evening, with light refreshments and drinks supplied.

Life Training Program 2010
In 2010 there will be 20 sessions held throughout the state, with each session
divided into two parts:
Part 1
The first part of the Life Training program involves realistic, challenging
activities designed to confront young people’s perceptions of much-discussed
topics. It is delivered by specialists in one of the following fields:
·
Illicit Drugs - Purana Task Force
·
Depression - Beyond blue (new window)
·
Binge Drinking - Odyssey House
·
Body Image and Self Esteem - The Butterfly Foundation

Part 2
The second part is a positive choices session facilitated by Leading Teams (new window) and
supported by well-known sporting identities. This includes ex-AFL star Nathan
Thompson, who has who has been the Ambassador for the program since 2006.
This year we also welcome Renae Hallinan from Melbourne Vixens to
the program.
