Every year we offer work experience placements to students enrolled in year 10 at a Victorian Secondary School. The work experience program at V/Line is for one week.
Work experience is a great way to find out what it is like to work in the rail industry. Work experience at V/Line is also a chance to meet people and find out more about career options at V/Line.
We offer work experience in the following areas:
Engineering
Infrastructure – plant and equipment maintenance or signalling and communications
Safety, Security and Environment
Train station operations
Human Resources
Information Technology
Finance and contracts and procurement
Media, Marketing and Communications
Due to safety regulations work experience is not offered in the areas of driving, conductor crews, train control, shunting and track maintenance.
Request for work experience placements are subject to managers being able to accommodate the request and provide supervision for the duration of the placement without disruptions to business.
The first step to apply for work experience is to fill out the expression of interest form and email the form to work.experience@vline.com.au.
